Six Steps Toward Creating a Better Attitude by Coach Deborah

  1. Start expecting good things to happen.
  2. Reprogram your thinking and dwell on the good.
  3. Start saying positive things. The more often you say good things, your subconscious mind will begin to act on what you are saying with enthusiasm and passion.
  4. Try, try again. If one dream dies, dream another dream.
  5. Focus on what you have, not what you don't have.
  6. Focus on your strengths and build on them!

Here's the deal...

A good attitude makes us feel alive! Having an optimistic, positive attitude is a choice. A good attitude increases our energy levels, attracts other positive people into our lives and propels us toward goodness and greatness. It's simply far more enjoyable to think positive. Healthy, positive, high energy opens closed doors and brings people together. A sense of humor doesn't hurt, either!

By the way...

Here's a commentary written by Charles Swindoll entitled, "Attitude."

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past. We cannot change the fact that certain people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitude."

Did you Know...

Success comes from what's inside us (our attitude) - not what's around us. Coaches don't let you off the hook for settling for less than you deserve. Yes, that's right. We coaches are certain that everyone put on this earth is put here for a specific purpose. With some attitude adjusting, all of us can discover our authentic selves, realize our full potential, and live our best lives, today!

Give Yourself A Me-Time Moment...

Me time moment

There are two movies currently out in theaters that are all about ATTITUDE. I highly suggest "The Pursuit of Happiness" starring Will Smith. It's based on a true story about a man who pursues his dream. He doesn't give up. After many struggles and obstacles, he achieves his career goal and creates a grounded, happy life for himself and his son.

"Freedom Writer" is inspiration at its best. It's based, again, on a true story of a young teacher who literally makes miracles happen in an inner city school because of her ATTITUDE and tenacity.

Something to Think About...

A good attitude feeds my heart. How do you feed your heart? According to Hillari Dowdle, contributing writer to "Yoga Journal" magazine, "To really create a life that's heart healthy, you have to take the broad view of what it means to nourish your heart. Good food is important, yes, but it's equally important to nurture the emotional and spiritual hearts...you can eat all the brussel sprouts you want, but if you're angry and you don't feel loved and supported, they aren't going to heal your heart."

To feed the emotional heart, spend time looking at nature's beauty; enjoy the company of family and friends; meditate and pray; and take time to do what you love to do. For me, the best place to nourish my heart and my attitude is by doing fun activities with my husband and children.

Valentine's Day, feed the heart

February 14th is Valentine's Day - a great day to feed the hearts of those close to you with love.

On a Wing and a Prayer...

Taken from Your Best Life Now 90 Devotions for Living at Your Full Potential by Joel Osteen.

"Your imagination is like a canvas. You can paint on it any kind of picture you choose through your thoughts, attitudes, and what you decide to focus on. Don't let doubt or fear paint on your canvas. Don't let 'impossible' or 'can't be done' thoughts blur the colors on your canvas."

"Instead, take out the paintbrush of faith, the paintbrush of hope, the paintbrush of expectancy, and begin painting a bright future on the canvas of your heart.
Understand: The kind of mental picture you paint is the goal toward which you will move. That image will set the limits for your life. If you want to change your life, you need to change the picture you're painting in your mind." (The pictures we paint in our mind create our attitude).
